about us Gold Leaf, founded in 2006 by Jacquelyn Suter, is a purveyor of fine contemporary art from Myanmar. Working with a range of artists, from those currently showing in Asia and abroad to those less well-known who deserve more international exposure, Gold Leaf pays special attention to young emerging artists, as well as the growing area of digital mixed and manipulated photography. Since Myanmar is Asia’s most isolated country in terms of having access to global art information, Gold Leaf endeavors to assist by arranging worldwide exhibitions and providing other forms of art-related services for the Myanmar art community. Currently, Gold Leaf has active relationships with over 20 Myanmar artists. At this time, Gold Leaf does not have a permanent gallery but, instead, utilizes appropriate exhibition venues worldwide to bring Myanmar art to the attention of international art connoisseurs. We are always delighted to entertain requests from galleries, museums, and other venues to partner with us to mount exhibitions. Ms. Suter has a master's degree from the University of California, Berkeley (USA) with postgraduate studies at the University of Paris, France. She is the official nominator for Myanmar for the prestigious Sovereign Asian Art Prize. She has written an assessment of contemporary Myanmar art for the Asia Art Archive/diaaalogue section and is also the only western contributing writer for the Burmese art journal Pan |
